received a pleasant facelift. An obtrusive bath shrank back to allow for a new hallway,
creating improved traffic flow to the rear of the house. A large picture window and strategically
placed recessed lighting create a luminous glow. Even the banister and stair
rails were impeccably refinished and restored to their original luster.
Alexandria, VA This 180-year-old home was in a crumbling
state of disrepair when Kingston began in 2002. A year later, the home was
returned to its former glory, complete with architectural details carefully
matched to the 19th century originals.

This 1920's formal dining room received all new plaster walls and beautiful trim
work. The new red oak flooring was skillfully selected and installed to match
the original antique planks. Other elaborate detail includes specialty lighting
and marble radiator enclosures.

Kingston hand crafted extensive sections of molding while replacing the former back porch with a walk-around extension of the living room.

After the original garage was destroyed in
Hurricane Isabel, the homeowners requested that the new one be done in a
traditional brick-and-block construction. A five-window dormer adds light and
storage to the loft, while a recessed second gable prevents the garage from
looking cumbersome.
